Green, green and more green!

Oh, so it really isn't all that much green in my post, but this won't be then end of this fiber/color I think I still have something like 6-8ish ounces left.  This is my first ever navajo plied yarn! Yay!!!! And it was also my second wheel spun fiber ever! It is the Apple Green Colonial Top from Alpaca Direct.

A certain someone decided to hop up onto my photo spot and refused to move, so she got to be my yarn model.

One of the more evenly plied sections

Wow...er, sorry!

Has it really been that long since I last posted?!?! SORRY! Sadly I was unmotivated for a long while and also had no inspiration during that time as well. But while I was home recently I was able to work on a few spinning projects. Only pictures of one, but it is a meaningful one to me. I call it "Rita's Dreams" after the family dog who we sadly had to put down yesterday. She slept most of the time in the back room with me while I spun it, hence the name.
Rita, who will be greatly missed by all.
A penny for scale and the most true to the fiber color. Though in life it is a wonderful mostly purple blend with blues/whites/maroon mixed in.

Slightly hard to see photo, but Rita in her spot while I spun. The shadows on the yarn are pretty close it color also.

And a poem I found today that touched me.

The Last Battle

If it should be that I grow frail and weak,
And pain should keep me from my sleep,
Then will you do what must be done,
For this, the last battle, can't be won.

You will be sad I understand,
But don't let grief then stay your hand,
For on this day, more than the rest,
Your love and friendship must stand the test.

We have had so many happy years,
You wouldn't want me to suffer so.
When the time comes, please, let me go.

Take me to where to my needs they'll tend,
Only, stay with me till the end

And hold me firm and speak to me,
Until my eyes no longer see.
I know in time you will agree,
It is a kindness you do to me.

Although my tail its last has waved,
From pain and suffering I have been saved.

Don't grieve that it must be you,
Who has to decide this thing to do;
We've been so close,we two, these years,
Don't let your heart hold any tears.
